Lancia Beta Flywheel Assembly
This picture shows the clutch and flywheel
assemblies of both Volumex and normally
aspirated Beta.On first inspection they appear to be pretty much identical.
|

But on close inspection of the centre plates
the different size becomes apparent VX
plate on the left and standard Beta on the right.
The spring damping areain the centre is really noticeable.
|

The standard Beta clutch measures
215mm
|

Compared with 234 mm of the
VX clutch.
This is because or the VX's superior
torque so
more clutch area is required to
handle the extra “oomph!”
|

Of course with a larger centre plate a larger area pressure plate is also required.Compare standard...
|

With VX again
|

Now pop the standard Beta centre plate onto the VX cover and this is what you get.Hmmm ..... slight difference.
|

A VX pressure plate
will not fit a standard Beta flywheel
because of the different dowel
and securing bolt pattern.
If you look closely you can see the dowel in the lower right of the picture
but the one on the otherside will not line up.
